#no strings attached!#shumika#I have a few things to note:#1. I put thought/easter eggs? into the colours! hint is their eyes#2. there are no accidents in certain details#3. their outfits and jewellery are matching (see also 1 and 2)#yeah that's it#designing the dresses was tons of fun omg#colouring them not so much#but deciding how the colours of the dresses would match each other was fun. and making the dresses match without being the exact same design#unfortunately shu's rosy little cheeks did not make the final cut. the colours washed him out but it was for the greater good 😔#I think that's all I've gotta say#sorry I haven't posted art in a hot minute... Getting looser with lineart and better at colour schemes and simplifying shading. Is good actually.#It's so much easier to eyeball what a colour would look like in a setting instead of colourpicking the OG palette and struggling with...#...like 9 overlay and multiply and soft/hard light layers#Approximating colour genuinely looks better than forcing local colour into the piece. As long as the values are still there it works out#comic

I love it when people draw Robin!Dick as a little creepy unsettling child like yes he embodies the blue eyed stare and moves in ways humans were never meant to move in and he never really grew out of it. Like the bright colours, the flips and the quips are so deceiving he’s so unsettling in the way no other Robin could quite replicate. I just know every criminal breathed a sigh of relief when he finally outgrew the tights.
